According to the RTI Act, 2005 the Uttarakhand Information
Commission shall consist of — (a) the State Chief Information
Commissioner, and (b) such number of State Information
Commissioners, not exceeding ten, as may be deemed necessary.
Brief Bio data of CIC
Dr. R. S. Tolia, (I.A.S.
1971). Born in Dehradun, on 15 November, 1947. He is presently
Chief Information Commissioner, Uttarakhand. He has previously
held various prestigious posts in the state, including that of
Chief Secretary. The government of Uttar Pradesh had assigned him
the responsibility of formation of the provisional capital of the
new state of Uttarakhand.
During his 35 years in service Dr. Tolia has participated in
several seminars including abroad. As a member of the Quinquennial
Review Mission he reviewed development activities in Pakistan &
Myanmar. Some of his publications include Nain Singh Rawat :
Teacher, Surveyor & Trainer; Tehri on the Eve of Merger; Land,
Forest & Village Community; Green Revolution in Mountain Areas;
Mountains, People & Water; Food for Thought & Action; A Practical
Guide to the RTI Act; Handbook for Public Information Officers;
and Towards a Transparent & Accountable Uttarakhand.

Shri Vinod Nautiyal
has been appointed as Information Commissioner by the Government
of Uttarakhand vide GO No. 780/XXX(13)G/2009 dated 11th November
2009.
